There are few things better then going back to an old favourite. Judy Blume’s novels are like an old friend or a worn old blanket – comforting and representing a large sense of solidarity against the great, wide world.
Deenie was perhaps my first foray into romance novels. Not that romance is the mainstay of Deenie, it’s simply ingrained within the story, like it is in the lives of most teenage girls. Useful reading for young girls with questions, though some of the advice may seem a little dated, I would recommend it over Twilight any day.
Are You There God, It’s Me, Margaret, is more than a little dated with advice regarding period equipment, however the basic premise of it is still interesting. Again, teens would find it strange and the advice maybe even old fashioned, but the honesty of it is applaudable.
